Absentee Ballot

Application Process

This form has been made available by the Iowa Secretary of State. Prior to any election, voters may request an absentee ballot in lieu of going to the polls. An absentee ballot may be done in person at the Auditor's office, or by mail.

Submission Instructions

Download and print the absentee ballot application (PDF). Complete and sign the form. Mail or hand deliver the completed form to:
Muscatine County Auditor
414 E Third St.
Suite 201
Muscatine, Iowa 52761

You may also fax your request to 563-263-7248. However, if you request an absentee ballot by fax, the original requested document must be postmarked by the Voter Registration Deadline and received by the time the polls close on election day.

Receiving Your Ballot

Upon receiving your request, an absentee ballot and instructions will be mailed to you. Whether you vote the ballot or not, it must be postmarked by the day before election day and received before the official canvass or it will not be counted. You may also hand deliver the ballot to the auditor before the polls close on election day.

If you have any questions regarding absentee ballots, please contact the auditor.
